Cabo San Lucas (widely referred to as ‘Cabo’) is commonly associated as a place of romance and having a robust nightlife, however, Cabo is also family friendly and a wonderful destination for family travel. With numerous exciting activities, an array of stunning golden beaches to play at, as well as the fantastic Kids Club at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Los Cabos, you can be assured that visiting Los Cabos with kids is safe and you and your little ones will go home bursting with fond family memories.

One of Los Cabos’ best kept secrets is Wild Wet Fun, a waterpark located in Caduaño, approximately a 50-minute drive from the tourist corridor where Garza Blanca is situated. The entry cost is very reasonable, $145 pesos for children aged 3 to 10 and $195 pesos for ages 11 and up. The park includes several pools, big waterslides, a kids wet area with a giant water bucket, and palapas for relaxation. Guests are prohibited from bringing in their own food and drinks, but there is a reasonably priced restaurant onsite. The waterpark is temporarily closed, but it should be reopening soon. Swimming with dolphins is a popular and delightful experience that is enjoyable for the whole family. Dolphins are incredibly kind-natured and intelligent beings, who love to give kisses and show off! There are several ways to experience these wonderful creatures, depending on age and how comfortable you are. Children under 8 years of age can encounter a dolphin in safe, shallow waters. They’ll pet them and have professional photos taken. For those 8 years and over, they can either swim with a dolphin or take an in-depth ‘trainer for the day’ course. Swimming with a dolphin isn’t very physically demanding – you’ll simply hold onto the dolphin’s fin and they’ll do most of the work as they zoom around the pool and give you a thrilling ride!

Helpful Tips for Traveling with Children

Helpful Tips for Traveling with Children

Traveling and going on vacation with children can be stressful if you aren’t properly prepared. The key to a successful family vacation is realistic expectations and preparation. Below are some helpful tips to help guide you towards an easier family vacation:

1) Take sunscreen and a sunhat everywhere with you. The last thing you want is for your child(ren) to get sunburnt and be uncomfortable for the rest of the vacation.

2) Take bottles of water everywhere you go. It’s important to keep your child(ren) hydrated to avoid heatstroke, dehydration, fatigue, or irritability.

3) For younger children, carry around a few toys or books with you. When you have a tour booked, the tour guides usually tell you to meet at a certain spot 30-minutes before the tour begins. For younger children, this 30-minutes can cause boredom and frustration. A book or toy will come in handy to keep them entertained.

4) Plan in advance. Preparation is key. Try to have a weekly schedule created in advance so that you know what you’re doing each day. This way, you don’t have to spend unnecessary time each morning deciding what to do.

5) Food! We will always advocate immersing children in culture but sometimes it’s difficult, especially when it comes to food and especially if you have a picky eater! Below is a list of favorite, child-friendly meals that you can find at almost every restaurant:

  • Quesadillas – a tortilla that is folded around a filling of cheese, meat or other ingredients and usually fried.
  • Tacos de pollo – a tortilla filled with children, onion, and other fillings.
  • Arroz y frijoles – rice and beans but with a delicious Mexican twist.
  • Grilled fish y arroz – usually a freshly caught fish that is fried and served with rice or bread
  • Huevos revueltos – eggs scrambled with onion and tomatoes. An excellent choice for breakfast!
  • Fruit and yogurt – a healthy choice for breakfast

We hope to see you soon at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Los Cabos and can’t wait for you to make magical memories with us!
