Whale Watching
Without question, whale watching is one of the most spectacular and memorable experiences that one can participate in. It is also incredibly thrilling and educational for children. The peak months to see whales in Los Cabos are December and January, but you are likely to spot them anytime between mid-December and mid-April. If you plan to watch whales during your next visit to Cabo, you and your family will depart from the downtown marina and make your way out to the vast blue ocean. You’ll get excitingly close to one of the ocean’s biggest mammals, the Humpback Whale, who loves to jump out of the water and put on a show! You may also catch sight of wild dolphins, manta rays, and turtles!
Visit Santa Maria Beach
Santa Maria is a stunning beach located a 14-minute drive from downtown Cabo. The beach is truly picturesque with pristine white sand, clear blue water, stunning rock formations, and a Bohemian themed restaurant serving delectable food and drinks. It’s a wonderful family location, offering a more relaxed vibe where children can play in the sand and splash around in the water while you relax and soak up the sun’s rays. It’s also an ideal setting for gorgeous family vacation photos, especially during the sunset!
Wild Wet Fun
One of Los Cabos’ best kept secrets is Wild Wet Fun, a waterpark located in Caduaño, approximately a 50-minute drive from the tourist corridor where Garza Blanca is situated. The entry cost is very reasonable, $145 pesos for children aged 3 to 10 and $195 pesos for ages 11 and up. The park includes several pools, big waterslides, a kids wet area with a giant water bucket, and palapas for relaxation. Guests are prohibited from bringing in their own food and drinks, but there is a reasonably priced restaurant onsite. The waterpark is temporarily closed, but it should be reopening soon. Cabo Dolphins
Swimming with dolphins is a popular and delightful experience that is enjoyable for the whole family. Dolphins are incredibly kind-natured and intelligent beings, who love to give kisses and show off! There are several ways to experience these wonderful creatures, depending on age and how comfortable you are. Children under 8 years of age can encounter a dolphin in safe, shallow waters. They’ll pet them and have professional photos taken. For those 8 years and over, they can either swim with a dolphin or take an in-depth ‘trainer for the day’ course. Swimming with a dolphin isn’t very physically demanding – you’ll simply hold onto the dolphin’s fin and they’ll do most of the work as they zoom around the pool and give you a thrilling ride!
Camel Rides
Due to Cabo’s versatile landscapes, in the desert outback you’ll find delightful and exotic creatures such as camels! Camels are beautiful animals, with fun and friendly personalities. You’ll become entranced by their peaceful nature and interesting features. Buckle up and go on a family camel ride, where you’ll venture through the desert, the mountains, or along the beach during the golden sunset. It’s a fun and unique experience that’s sure to excite your little ones! The experienced tour guide will teach you about the history of Cabo, all about the camels, and answer any questions that you may have.
Wild Canyon Adventures
Calling all thrill-seekers, little and large! Wild Canyon is Cabo’s adrenaline-pumping adventure park where you’ll find an array of hair-rising activities, such as bungee jumping, zip-lining, off-road racing, and sling swings. Although perfect for the older thrill-seeker, it’s also a great attraction for families who enjoy a slower pace or those with young children, as the park also offers camel rides (4 years of age and over), an exotic animal sanctuary, a fun water zone, and the perfect grounds to explore. The park has a beautiful tropical-themed restaurant called Lion’s Den, which is the perfect place to excite over and relive your adventure experience while enjoying fresh beverages and appetizing hearty favorites for children and adults, such as burgers, hot dogs, and a Mexican classic: tacos!
Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park
Cabo Pulmo is a paradisiacal, protected natural area located a 2-hour drive from Cabo San Lucas. Cabo Pulmo is beaming with natural beauty, sea life, and is home to the only existing coral reef in the whole of the Gulf of California! Cabo Pulmo is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving (available to both adults and children) as the clear water offers superb visibility and the opportunity to catch sight of a range of vibrant, exotic fishes and mammals, including whale sharks, manta rays, and turtles.
As well as being a wonderful place for water activities, Cabo Pulmo is one of the oldest ecosystems on Earth, meaning that the untouched land provides unforgettable and stunning views. The rock formation is the perfect place for little ones to explore the rock pools and catch sight of crabs and colorful fishes. The lovely white sand beach is also a great place to play, create memories, and take family photos! San Jose del Cabo
San Jose del Cabo is located a 30-minute drive along the entrancing coastline from Cabo San Lucas. San Jose is the second part of the municipality that makes Los Cabos. The town of San Jose is very different from Cabo San Lucas. The cobblestone streets decorated by colorful flags, luscious blooming plants, and quirky buildings offer a feeling of a slower time and a more classical Mexico.
You and your family can dine at one of the traditional Mexican restaurants and experience true Mexican cuisines, such as pozole, tacos, and quesadillas while listening to Mariachi music that echoes through the winding streets. After lunch, you can browse the art galleries, museums, and shops where you’ll find wonderful artisan treasures. Cabo Submarine
The Cabo Submarine is a great tour option for all ages. You and your family can explore the underwater mysteries and sea life of the Sea of Cortez in a semi-submersible, climate-controlled submarine! You can catch sight of up to 70 different stunning species of fish, including the California yellowtail, king angelfish and pufferfish, and even wild dolphins and turtles. You will be accompanied by experienced marine biologists who will guide you on your adventure, answer all of your questions, and talk about the history of the Baja. Nearing the end of the tour, the submarine will venture toward the coastline where you’ll have fantastic views of The Arch rock formation, as well as Pelican Rock and Neptune’s Finger! It’s a truly remarkable experience and allows plenty of opportunities for photos!
Cuadra San Francisco Equestrian Center
Cuadra San Fransisco offers many equine-related activities, such as romantic rides along hidden beaches, trail rides through the desert and beach, polo lessons, a two-hour canyon ride in the Arroyo San Carlos, and horseback riding lessons.
The equestrian center is managed by two renowned and experienced horseback trainers, whose passion and love for horses show through their training and care for them. The equestrian center has a variety of horses and ponies with special saddles that are available for younger children.
Kids Club at Garza Blanca Los Cabos
At Garza Blanca, we know that family vacations are very precious and a wonderful time to bond with your family. They are a fantastic opportunity to embrace new adventures and share discoveries and experiences together. We also know, however, that family vacations can be tiring, and sometimes all you want to do is lounge by the pool with a good book or have a romantic lunch on the beach with your partner. For those times when you do want a little break from the kids, Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Los Cabos offers an incredible Kids Club program, with a schedule full of exciting and fun activities, managed by our certified and experienced Kids Club staff, who are also part of our babysitting program.
The Kids Club operates daily from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm and is open for children ages 4 through to 12.
Our jam-packed activities program features games such as foosball, scavenger hunt, and dodgeball, tennis, pool volleyball, and beach volleyball. We have arts and crafts activities, culinary activities, reading time, and movie time in our Kids Movie Theatre. Our program also features other activities such as a sea shell hunt and sandcastle making.
For parents who want to go out in the evening to explore Cabo’s nightlife, we also offer a high-quality babysitting service. Parents can feel reassured that all of our babysitters are certified and there is a maximum capacity of 2 children per babysitter. There is a fee of $35 USD per hour for 1 child and $45 USD an hour for 2 children. Our guests can request the babysitting service at our Kids Club, but also with our butlers, or front desk staff.
