Local artisans display their wares
Kicking off on Friday May 5th, 2017, Hecho en Mexico will hold the first gathering of local Mexican artisans to commemorate the Mexican national holiday, Cinco de Mayo, that remembers the Battle of Puebla (Franco-Mexican War from 1861-1867). A select group of local artisans will set up stands in the Lobby at Garza Blanca promoting the rich and colorful traditions in Mexico. These displays will continue each weekend throughout May, welcoming a host of different products for guests to enjoy, including expositions of Mexican wine, chocolate, tequila, mezcal, cigars, jewelry, pottery, folk art, and finger painting, amongst others.
Mexican Festival – Saturday May 20th
You are sure to be entertained when you attend Hecho en Mexico’s exceptional Mexican Festival on Saturday, May 20th from 6pm through 10pm. The festival’s guest of honor will be Maria Rosario Mendoza, an immensely talented Mexican fashion designer. She will thrilling audiences with a live fashion show that will highlight pieces from her exclusive Takasami label. Other entertainment acts at the event will include a traditional Mexican lasso performer (charo lazo), dancing horses, live Mariachis, and pre-Hispanic musicians. Hotel guests and locals alike can enjoy this delightful fiesta with the purchase of tickets. Each ticket to Hecho en Mexico will include a delectable Mexican buffet as well as beverages (adults $650 pesos / Children under 12 $325 pesos).
Renowned Guest Chef
To further enhance the culinary experiences at this cultural celebration, a renowned Mexican chef (to be announced) will be joining in the fun, creating special menus and taking part in other activities.
