Puerto Vallarta will have you oohing and aahing more than usual this holiday season. The popular tourist destination, which usually catches more than its fair share of admirers during the month of December, will be hosting the 2014 International Fireworks Festival from December 20th through the 31st. For those visiting Puerto Vallarta during this time, the colorful display of talent will provide an excellent end to an amazing year.
For 11 days and nights, pyrotechnic specialists from four different nations and five Mexican states will be showing off the best of their abilities in a festival that will light up the sky. Professionals from Italy, Canada, Spain and the United States will accompany masters in their trade from Puebla, Jalisco, Mexico State, Zacatecas and Sonora to create a spectacle for the people and tourists of Puerto Vallarta. Each fireworks display, together with its musical accompaniment, will last 20 minutes and represent the Bay of Banderas.
Spectators will be able to enjoy the free fireworks display, as well as a plethora of entertaining cultural activities, at three different locations along the tourist strip. Event organizers decided that the Los Muertos Pier in Olas Altas, the Peninsula shopping plaza at the beginning of the hotel zone, and the Malecon in downtown, would be the best locations to host the crowds of people eager to see the show. These strategic points are meant to make the awe-inspiring event easily accessible to everyone.
In addition to the fireworks show in Puerto Vallarta, an assortment of music, dance and art exhibitions will be provided by various local artists. The combination of local and international talent is sure to be explosive. With more than 7 million pesos (around $500,000 US dollars) invested in the affair, there is no doubt that it will be an unforgettable memory for both the people of Puerto Vallarta and the tourists who make the charming city their home this holiday season.
