As you may have already heard, Hotel Mousai – the only Five Diamond resort in the state of Jalisco – is expanding! A second tower is underway, adjacent to the first, on the Garza Blanca Preserve complex in Puerto Vallarta.
Like the original Hotel Mousai, the second tower will be nothing less than spectacular, with the wow factor guests have come to expect from the brand. Our designers have a lot to live up to in order to surpass the first Hotel Mousai, and they are working hard to create something extra special. The existing Hotel Mousai will be connected to the new tower by an incredible bridge that is suspended by high columns that meander through the existing trees.
The new 16-story tower will feature 72 luxury suites, a first-class Chinese restaurant, a chic cocktail lounge on the lobby floor, and a blissful rooftop pool and lounge, all in Hotel Mousai’s signature style.
The Lobby
They say first impressions matter, and at Hotel Mousai we wholeheartedly agree. That’s why the lobby of the first Mousai is so striking, with its high contrast black and white chess theme, black marble and red accents. The new Mousai lobby will be just as striking as the original, in its own way. The designers have opted for an open concept with high ceilings, with a white and gold theme on the walls and colorful modern sofas with contrasting pillows. The lobby will surely impress, and give guests a taste of what else awaits them throughout the rest of the resort.
Adjacent to the lobby there will be a 139-seat Italian restaurant serving pastas and pizzas prepared in an open kitchen. Guests will be able to enjoy breakfast and dinner with a view of the chefs preparing their meals.
The Lounge Bar will be located next to the lobby, and Hotel Mousai’s Cuban quartet featuring a saxophone, flute, trumpet, and violin will serenade you while you relax and unwind.
The Suites
You can expect the ultimate inluxury suites in the new tower. The lineup of 36 King Studio Suites, 20 King Corner Studio Suites, 12 Double Studio Suites, and 4 Penthouses will excite those with discerning taste who enjoy the most modern designs and attention to detail. For larger groups, the new Hotel Mousai tower will offer connecting rooms for suites.
The suites will be light, bright and airy, with large windows and light-colored fabrics in shimmery shades such as whites, silvers and golds, with furniture and decor pieces in interesting colors, shapes and designs. Everything will be the highest quality, keeping with the brand’s goal of creating masterful spaces that are works of art in their own right.
In 2018 TAFER Resorts launched its own signature line of mattresses and linens. TAFER mattresses and linens are now used in all of the hotels under the TAFER brand, and the new Hotel Mousai is no exception. TAFER mattresses were designed by evaluating the latest technology in hotel mattresses, and TAFER linens were developed to have the highest quality composition and texture, so you can rest assured that the beds in the new Hotel Mousai will be extraordinarily comfortable.
The ocean view suites will have the most stunning views of Banderas Bay and Los Arcos National Marine Park. When you wake up in the morning, the first thing you’ll see will be the gorgeous water stretching out for miles in front of you. Each suite will have a private terrace with a hammock, so you can enjoy the fresh air while soaking up the scenery.
The four Penthouse Suites will be large, measuring around 1,075 square feet each. They will each include a living room, bar, steam shower, and of course, a large private terrace with jacuzzi and hammock.
The Rooftop
The Rooftop bar and lounge is one of the most fabulous spaces at the original Hotel Mousai, and the new Mousai tower aims to top it with its own Rooftop. The Rooftop will accommodate up to 126 guests for events and activities, and the resort will host regular sunset cocktail parties and more. Some of the features of the new Rooftop include an infinity pool with a sun shelf with in-pool loungers, as well as lounge chairs and umbrellas around the perimeter of the pool, and of course a stunning 360-degree view of Puerto Vallarta, the Bay of Banderas, and the Sierra Madre mountains.
Restaurant DAO
Hotel Mousai is very excited to introduce its new gourmet Chinese cuisine concept restaurant called DAO. The location of the restaurant is just as cutting edge as the cuisine itself. DAO will be located on the bridge between the two Mousai towers. This elevated, double-height ceiling restaurant will make a statement with its modern interior design and red and white colors. The restaurant and lounge will have a capacity for 150 guests and will overlook the ocean and surrounding jungle.
Construction of the new Hotel Mousai tower is scheduled to be completed in December 2021.
