The ambiance and design of each therapy suite at Garza Blanca’s Spa Imagine is inspired by one of the body’s seven energy centers known as chakras, which are located at various points from the base of the spine to just above the top of your head. If you have ever practiced yoga, enjoyed wellness travel or meditated, then you will, no doubt, be very familiar with these energetic centers through which prana (energy life force) flows.
What are chakras?
“Chakra” is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disk which is used to define the differing points along the spine where energy builds up in a variety of massive nerve centers. The chakras are believed to help regulate the systems of the human body, including everything from organ function to your complex myriad of emotions. Many modern day practices aim to “open” or “release” your chakras, returning them to their natural balance, so that a harmonious flow of energy can be restored.
Spa Imagine’s Therapy Rooms
The therapy rooms at Spa Imagine are named after the sound attributed to each of the seven chakras: LAM, VAM, RAM, YAM, HAM, SHAM and OM, with an eighth suite named AURA. The spa suites are subtly adorned with details that reference the precious stone and color associated with these energy centers to enhance their unique healing properties.
There are five solo suites dedicated for one-on-one personal healing, relaxation and transformation, designed to aid your journey towards wholeness and balance. In addition, there are three lavish speciality suites available for ultra-unique spa experiences and spa retreats, including couples massages and romantic packages as well as bridal or bachelorette pamper days. These therapy suites are larger and have space for more than one client.
Chakras play an integral part in the design and philosophy behind Spa Imagine. The idea is that the spa itself is like a vortex of healing energy that envelops and energizes each and every person that enters the spa. Clients are offered tea following their treatments and can choose from a range of seven flavors, each of which are aimed to target a particular chakra.
For those of you who wish to align your chakras during a vacation at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa, a Chakra Balance Ritual is available at Spa Imagine. This spa treatment aims to promote balance in a holistic, soothing way by aligning the body’s energy centers through the application of carefully selected essential oils. The ritual includes exfoliation and a personalized massage.
