The wonderful sights and sounds of ocean water are some of the greatest joys of beach side vacations, for sure, but we think that there’s no better way to enjoy the ocean than from within it! There are hundreds of different water sports these days, especially in warm places like Riviera Maya, but few activities are as magical and thrilling as seeing what lies beneath the waves. Snuba lets you explore the underwater caves, tunnels, reefs, and wrecks that can be found all over this region of Mexico.

No matter what level of experience you may, or may not, have in the water Snuba is a wonderful and easy to enjoy adventure. You don’t need to be a certified diver, you only need to be able to swim. It’s so simple to learn Snuba that people of all ages can take part; it is a perfect family activity. In fact, there’s even a special; program which has equipment designed for children as young as 4! The breath-taking world beneath the surface is within reach for all now, and there are few ways to make such lasting and special memories as with a Snuba outing.

It has never been easier to get involved, either, as the introduction to Snuba is quick; a 15 minute safety briefing will teach you what you need to know about the equipment and how to use it safely, as well as filling you in on what to expect from your tour. You’ll then be fitted with Snuba gear: a masks, fins, harness, and weight belt; after this you’ll be ready to get out there and explore. You won’t be asked to do more, or go further, than you are entirely comfortable with so just enjoy the experience safe in the knowledge that your Snuba guide is experienced, skilled, and looking out for you.

The unique selling point of Snuba is the air supply which, unlike in scuba diving, is not attached to you, but held on a support raft at the surface. This lack of bulky equipment is freeing, as is the air-supply which is attached to an easy-to-use regulator. The result is that you can go much deeper that you might be able to if you were snorkelling (up to 20 feet down!), but don’t have all the complexities of scuba diving to deal with.
