ArtWalk San Jose del Cabo

Since its advent, the ArtWalk has become a mainstay of the local culture, and is wildly popular with art lovers both local and visiting. In fact, the event has become so big that the local government has started to shut off some of the streets used for the ArtWalk so that walkers may go about their business without worrying about traffic. Many of the Galleries in the area also put special opening hours in place to cater to the ArtWalk, opening between 5 and 9 pm on ArtWalk days.

A Fabulous Cultural Experience in San Jose del Cabo

On Thursdays you will find that the whole Gallery District in San Jose del Cabo is buzzing with excitement and energy. There will generally be live music and entertainment in the streets and main plaza, and you’ll see a great mix of artists, tourists, and locals here all mingling and partaking in this scene. You’ll also find that many galleries have free nibbles and drinks for you to enjoy while you browse and chat; they’re open for real business too, so if you see something you like be sure to talk to the owner.

ArtWalk Thursdays

While you visit each gallery, you will notice that they all have their own unique feel and speciality so don’t be afraid to talk to the proprietors about why they choose certain things, and who it is they feature most. This is an unprecedented opportunity to get insider knowledge on the easy-going, but creative art scene of San Jose del Cabo. Some galleries might even have local artists in house to chat to you about their works and their methods.

There’s no doubt that you’ll see an impressive array of unique and hand-crafted items while on this San Jose del Cabo tour. Everything from glass work to bead work, paintings to handicrafts, sculptures to jewellery will be given some space here.

After Art Dinner

The fun doesn’t have to end when the gallery doors shut, however; San Jose del Cabo’s Art District has many wonderful restaurants, bars, and bistros to enjoy. Why not stop off after the ArtWalk and try some local delicacies or speciality tequilas while lounging in an al fresco eating area on some starry patio or courtyard?

San Jose del Cabo has much to offer for art lovers of all descriptions, and the weekly ArtWalk is the one time at which you can see a microcosm of the whole art scene in one place.
