The inspiration behind Garza Blanca Preserve‘s statues and décor comes from several countries around the world, including India and China.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (December 2021) — Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta is a luxe beachfront resort nestled in between the Sierra Madre jungle and the Pacific Ocean and is part of TAFER Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio of award-winning resorts. The resort sits on a lush nature preserve with 85 acres of lush tropical jungle that cascades down to the Blue Flag certified Garza Blanca Beach. The resort grounds are dotted with impressive statues and the inspiration for Garza Blanca Preserve’s statues comes from China and India.

Garza Blanca Preserve is also home to Hotel Mousai, which is the only AAA 5 Diamond-rated resort in the state of Jalisco, further stating its intention and ambition to create the best resorts on this planet.

The vision to create resorts that become wonders of the world in the hospitality industry is credited to Fernando González Corona, who is the founder, owner, and president of TAFER Hotels & Resorts. Mr. González and his family have traveled the globe and along the way have collected marvels of the world in the form of art and statues that they have installed at Garza Blanca Preserve and Hotel Mousai. They brought back their favorite art pieces from their travels to share with guests and members, so that they can live a worldly experience and share their appreciation of the works.

When you visit Garza Blanca Preserve, you will notice several statues dotted along the grounds including Buddhist statues that the family brought from China to Puerto Vallarta and you will also find statues of Ganesh, the elephant-headed Hindu god of prosperity, which the family brought from India to Puerto Vallarta. Both the Buddhist and Indian statues were blessed by monks during a ritual and transmit peace, good luck, and blessings for the people who enter the resort and also represent the mixing of cultures.

On the grounds you will find:

Kuan Yin (Quan Yin or Guan Yin) – a statue of Kuan Yin, who is the bodhisattva of great compassion. The name Kuan Yin, or its variations, literally translates to “observing the cries of the (human) world”. Bodhisattvas are human beings who dedicate all their lifetimes (including several reincarnations) to the enlightenment of human kind. The Kuan Yin statue on the property is in a seated position with legs crossed and shown with a third eye. Having an image or a statue of this celestial being on display at home or on your property is thought to alleviate suffering, bring blessings, and generate prosperity.

Buddha Head – Buddha means “the awakened one”. Siddhartha Gautama is the founder of Buddhism. He was a wealthy prince who lived in present-day Nepal and he renounced his wealth to go in search of enlightenment. His teachings became the foundation for Buddhism, which today is most popular in Asia. A statue of the Buddha head holds the secrets of enlightenment within it and having a Buddha statue on your property or in your home is thought to bring calmness and a harmonious energy. The Buddha head statue has half-closed eyes representing a deep meditative state.

Ganesha – Lord Ganesha is known by many different names including Ganapati, Ganesh, Pillayar, and Vinayaka. He is an elephant-headed Hindu god, who is worshipped by many eastern religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. Having a statue of Ganasha in your home or on your property is thought to remove obstacles and bring good luck.

When asked about what drives innovation and future developments within the resort, such as the new South Tower of Hotel Mousai, which opened its doors to the public on December 2nd, 2021, Hotel Mousai’s Experience Manager, Imelda Zermeño Gonzalez, stated “customer feedback”. This highlights the value put on the resort’s guests and that the foundations of the inspiration behind this world leading concept is its people internally and externally.

The Garza Blanca South development has added an additional investment of $500 million US dollars to achieve its objective of creating a worldly experience. With this investment the resort created TierraLuna Gardens, which is an outdoor space in the heart of nature, dedicated for guests to visit 9 boutique shops with sustainable and local crafts, 4 gourmet restaurants, and is also an event space hosting a weekly Art Walk and Farmers Market.
