The Jury and Tafer Hotels & Resorts would like to thank all of the 54 candidates in total who submitted entries for the competition and to commend participants for their creativity and ingenuity.

We were overwhelmed by the quality and creativity of the competitors,” shared Architect Carlos Palomera who led the competition. “With such an incredible plot of tropical land, it is clear that the candidates were totally inspired by all the possibilities. There are so many wonderful ideas; now our team of architects needs to bring them all together into a final master plan.”

Competitors were invited to design inventive and groundbreaking projects intended to question our perceived notions of hospitality. The goal was to develop dynamic spaces for human interaction with nature that promote unique experiences. The architectural contest encouraged participants to contemplate all manner of proposals which could range in form, function and size; such as a collection of buildings, a series of pavilions, a theme park, a residential project, urban landscapes and so on.

The International Architecture Competition celebrated an impressive response whereby more than 400 people registered and 54 completed proposals were submitted. The winning submissions will be taken into consideration by Garza Blanca’s own professional team of architects to inspire the final plans for the plot of land, plans that will be announced in the near future.
